Research on Cadets’ Ego-Identity in the Military Universities

Research shows that the central theme of Cadets’ development is establishment of Ego-Identity. The development of Ego-Identity is of great importance to Cadets’ and would influence Cadets’ mental Health and personality development, and which is decisive to Cadet to get development objectives and developing motivity.Combined with the theory of career identity, Self-efficacy, attribution style, which is closely related to Cadets’ development, this paper takes a Empirical Study on Cadets’ developing motivity and its Influencing Factors in Military University by questionnaire. The results of the present study were the followings:1、the Ego-Identity development of Cadet in military university is not optimistic. Because that though Ego-Identity crisis of Cadet was lower, but more than half subjects still stay in identity diffusion-moratorium status.2、The key stage in the development of Cadets’ Ego-Identity was grade two in Military University.3、The technological majors’ Ego-Identity developed better than the Command majors’ in Military University.4、There are no statistical significance of Cadets’ Ego-Identity development in different exam score and different hometown.5、The perception of school environment、career identity, Self-efficacy and attribution style are important factor to the development of Cadets’ Ego-Identity.Based on the Conclusion of this study, the paper put forward several proposals to promote Cadets’ development in Military University. Such as to create a good cultural environment on campus; to help Cadet establish development objectives; to Strengthen education of Cadets’ career identity; to raise Cadets’ self-efficacy; to help Cadet take attribution training ; to enhance mental Health education.
